“Salt! What a clever white witch.” -Winifred Sanderson, Hocus Pocus
Hi Three to Five Tribe! As I mentioned last week, I have decided to take my health journey to the next level and am now working with an NTP. I am learning loads of nutritional information and loving it! Some of this information is unique to me and my health journey, but other information is applicable to everyone, so I want to share some of that you, my readers! Today I want to discuss why you should be using Pink Himalayan Salt instead of traditional table salt.
Pink Himalayan Salt
Pink Himalayan Salt contains sodium (stating the obvious here), which is essential for certain bodily functions including regulating blood volume and blood pressure. Sodium also helps control muscle contractions, nerve transmissions, and heart functions. Clearly sodium is critical to a healthy diet, but what makes Pink Himalayan Salt so much better than traditional table salt?
Pink Himalayan Salt contains 84 minerals. When you only use table salt, you are only getting sodium, but when you use Pink Himalayan Salt you are also getting minerals like:
- Phosphorus and more!
Bonus: Pink Himalayan Salt is naturally occurring, so it contains all of these minerals without any chemical processing or refinement practices.
A word of caution: Although Pink Himalayan Salt is better than traditional table salt, it is still primarily salt, so don’t over do it. Still taste your food first before seasoning and remember, a little dash will do you!
The next time you stock up on salt, swap your usual canister of table salt for a Pink Himalayan Salt Grinder! I picked mine up at Trader Joe’s for only $2. If you already have a grinder and only need the salt, check out stores like T.J. Maxx or Home Goods. I know, these stores sound like odd places to buy salt from, but they sell giant tubs for only $6-$8. Check them out the next time you are there!
