I am happy to report no one died (myself included) and I have not had one drop of coffee since Ash Wednesday back on March 1st. Say whaaat? Yes! You read that right. No coffee in 50+ days. (This coming from the girl that used to have five to seven cups of coffee per day). #truestory
Life Without Coffee
Life without coffee is not nearly as bad as I had initially imagined. I experienced caffeine withdrawals on the first day (a throbbing headache for like 6 hours consistently), but after that first day, it was smooth sailing. I realized it was not so much the coffee I needed each morning, but a hot beverage in general. #comfortinacup I experimented with various types of tea and found my new morning favorite, peppermint tea.
Peppermint tea is fresh, cool, invigorating, and uplifting, perfect to perk you up first thing in the morning. I noticed I do not linger in bed for hours upon hours as I continuously refill my coffee cup. With only one cup of peppermint tea, I am awake and ready to go. #onecupanddone Ultimately, my day starts sooner making for a longer, more productive morning.
How did I go 50+ days without coffee? I just did it! You never know what you cannot live without until you actually give it up. Give yourself (and your willpower) more credit! If I can go 50+ days without coffee, then you can give up whatever you thought you could not live without.
