Hi Three to Five Tribe! Happy March and Happy Ash Wednesday! Last year for Lent, I completed my first Whole30 for the year, which then inspired me to complete three more for a grand total of four Whole30s for the year.
Now since I have already completed my first Whole30 in the month of January (and since I plan on completing three more for the year) I decided to do something else for the Lenten season. I am giving up…coffee!
For 40 days, starting today Ash Wednesday, and ending on Easter Sunday, 6 weeks from now, I will be giving up my hot morning cup of java. Okay let’s be real, it’s more like 5-8 cups of joe. Insert monkey covering their eyes emoji here.
It has only been one day and I have already experienced caffeine withdrawal headaches (and I am talking about a headache lasting from 9am-3pm). I know it will get worse before it gets better, but I am looking forward to seeing any changes going coffee free.
In the mean time, you will find me sipping on warm lemon water or dandelion root tea, which tastes just like a mouthful of warm grass on a hot summer’s day – no joke. Both lemon and dandelion root are known to detox the liver, so if anything I will have a healthy liver after all of this! Bright side?

Oh and any hot beverage recos that are not coffee? Don’t leave me hanging! And no, I do not want to go on a coffee date with you – at least not over the next 39 days!
